A vicious dog strikes the fear in everyone’s heart and rightly so. These dogs are out of control and not something anyone wants to own or be responsible for. The sad part is its not the dogs fault, So just whose fault is it?
No one would dispute that a vicious dog simply cannot be kept in society. In most cases there is no other recourse but to have the dog euthanized. This is a sad day for those owners who truly thought they were getting a family pet, and for this most unfortunate animal.
It is unfair of us though as a society to paint the rest of the animals with the same brush. There has been a great deal of media over the various attacks that have taken place which seem to be on the increase recently.
This has left a vary wary attitude towards the many other canines that exist. It should never be forgotten for every one of these vicious dogs that have injured a human or other animal that there are thousands of dogs out there who have brought so much joy and happiness to the their owners. There are many that have laid down their life for their owners. There are those who have spent years as a faithful and loyal service dog. Leading the blind and assisting the deaf.
It is so grossly unfair to these dogs to now be looked upon in distrust. On the other hand though it is wise to be astute when around any animal. The unfortunate part is that man himself is mostly to blame for these dogs that have become so vicious yet hardly a thought is ever directed towards them for being the creator of this damage in the first place.
People who breed dogs or any animals for the sole purpose of being vicious fighters should be handed out a punishment so stiff that they will realize the consequences of their actions.
